Welcome!
This guide is intended to help you learn how to use the Murder Mystery 2 section of our website.Items
Items refer to all the unique virtual objects that a player can have in their inventory. There are seven main types:- Knives
- Guns
- Pets
- Effects
- Radios
- Emotes
- Miscs
Knives and guns are tradeable, equippable skins that change how a player's gun or knife looks in game. There are two special variants called Trophies (denoted with the player's name on top of the item name), and Evos (denoted with the Evo tag on top of the item name) that cannot be traded.
Pets are non-interactive, tradeable cosmetic items that follow the player's in game movement.
Miscs are any items that do not fit into one of the categories above. These are usually former event currencies and keys.
Only knives and guns (except for Trophies and Evos), pets, and miscs can be traded. That's why effects, radios, and emotes are not listed, in contrast to other value lists.
Tiers
Tiers, also known as rarity or value on other value lists, is the classification on weapons based on how rare they are to obtain. Though this may be inaccurate, and should not be used as a final deciding factor when trading. Listed below are all the tier types:
- Unique (or Victim)
- Ancient
- Godly (and Chroma)
- Legendary
- Rare
- Uncommon
- Common
- Vintage (or Classic)
Though Godlies and Chromas are in the same tier, even having the same colour, they are often considered separate tiers, and are displayed as such on this website
There are two more tiers you may encounter: Christmas and Halloween. However, these are discontinued and are only used for some misc items.
As mentioned previously, Tiers are not exactly accurate when determining if a trade is good or not. For example, if someone offers you Eternalcane for your Latte Gun, it may look good on the outside, as Godlies are higher than Legendaries. However, this would be a bad offer, as Eternalcane's value is 25, and Latte Gun's value is 155. You would be losing 130 value.
Values
Values are the base value of items in Murder Mystery 2. This should be one of the major deciding factors when determining whether a trade is good or not, the other being stability. One misconception is if an item is reduced in value, that means the item is bad and will continue dropping. This is not entirely true, as most of the time, these value changes are just corrected by a small amount. To determine whether the drop was a correction or a trend change, make sure to refer to the item's Stability (covered later in this guide).Range
Ranges are two numbers that represent the average minimum and maximum value an item can get. For example, if an item's value is listed as [120 – 130], it means most trades for that item will fall between 120 and 130 value, excluding outliers. Ranges help you understand the typical market fluctuation for an item, so you can make more informed trading decisions.
Demand
Demand represents how much people want a specific item. The higher the demand, the more people will want to trade for the items. If a lot of people want an item, some of them will try overpaying for it.
Rarity
Rarity represents how rare an item is, as in how many or few items are in circulation. If an item has a high rarity, more people will definitely want it. If an item has a low rarity, a lot of people will have it, so people won't be very willing to trade for it, usually giving underpays or just not trading at all.
Last Change
Last Change represents the most recent change in an item's value. For example, if an item's value is 50, and the item's Last Change is +10, the item's previous value was 40, and it increased by 10. Similarily, if an item's value is 50, and the item's Last Change is -10, the item's previous value was 60, and it decreased by 10.
Stability
Stability is a prediction on how an item will perform in the future. This is one of the most important factors when trading. There are currently 9 stability ratings:
- Rising
- Overpaid For
- Doing Well
- Improving
- Fluctuating
- Receding
- Underpaid For
- Decreasing
- Stable
Rising means an item is steadily but heavily increasing in value, and will continue so unless manual interference happens. These items get consistent overpays, are incredibly easy to flip, and should be traded for
Overpaid For means an item frequently gets more than its base value, and shows little signs of stopping. These items you should try to get!
Doing Well means an item is steadily increasing and gets good but not crazy overpays than its base value. These items are unlikely to suddenly drop and will generally continue increasing.
Improving means an item is steadily improving in value, rarity, and/or demand. These items are most likely reviving due to a hype, such as an increased demand in Christmas items during Christmas events.
Fluctuating means an item underpays, base value, AND overpays. These items can only be truly described with a range. Fluctuating items are also generally unpredictable on whether it will rise, drop, or stabilize. As such, these item's base values are around the middle of the range.
Receding means an item is slowly dropping back to its normal value, demand, or rarity after a hype to a more stable state. This does not always mean an item is dying. One example is the decrease in demand in Halloween Items during Christmas events, in favour for Christmas items.
Underpaid For means an item frequently gets less than its base value. These items you should stay away, unless you're an experienced trader and know what you're doing.
Decreasing means an item is steadily but heavily decreasing in value, and will continue so unless manual interference happens. These items get consistent underpays, incredibly hard to flip, and should not be traded for.
Stable means an item does not have any noticeable hype or dislike, and will most likely remain the same value.
Trading Servers
Trading servers are private servers Hakari Values provide for users that use the same value list to trade. For more information, visit our Trading Servers List.
Middleman Services
A middleman is a trusted user that serves as an intermediary or agent between you and the other person. These people are often called on when doing multi-trades.
Multi-trades are trades where one or more parties is giving more than four unique items. Because a standard Murder Mystery 2 trade UI can only hold four unique items, this makes multi-trading risky, as the other side may try to scam you. That's where a middleman comes in.
Say you wanted to offer Chroma Evergun, Chroma Evergreen, 3 Gingerscopes, 8 Traveler's Guns, and 2 Chroma Vampire's Guns for their Chroma Traveler's Gun. If you choose to go first by paying your lowest items first, then the rest of the items second, that runs the risk of the other person leaving once they get your items. And if you urge them to give you their item for your highest items first, and you will give them the rest second, they will probably decline, as it runs the risk of you scamming them, and the fact that Chroma Traveler's Gun is the most valuable item in the game. That's where a middleman comes in.
Using the same scenario, you will give the middleman your 8 Traveler's Guns first. Once the other person confirms that, the two of you would trade the rest of the items. Once that is done, the middleman will give the other person the 8 Traveler's Guns. This way, both parties will get what they want, and there will be no risk of anyone getting scammed.
However, there's always the possiblity that the middleman themselves may try to scam, or is secretly working with the other person. So make sure the middleman you hire is trusted by both sides, and has no bad reputation. For a list of the most popular middleman services reviewed and ranked, visit the Middleman Services Page.
Search Bar
The search bar allows you to filter items based off of your query. To use it, simply type your search query into the text input field at the top of the page, and the items will be filtered automatically.
For example, if you're on the Vintages page and search "aser", only the items Laser and Phaser will be shown.
